On Friday, September 25th 2026, the Embassy of Guatemala celebrated the Commemoration of 205 years of Independence of Guatemala. Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr. Pabitra Margarita participated as the Chief Guest at the event.

The event was attended by members of the Guatemalan community, government officials, business leaders, members of business chambers, intellectuals, and representatives from India’s academic community. During the event, Guatemala’s culture, cuisine, music, and traditions were showcased, with a particular focus on Guatemalan textiles and kites.

The realization of this event was possible thanks to the financial support of the Honorary Consuls of Guatemala in the Indian cities of Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai, as well as the Honorary Consul of Guatemala in Sri Lanka and the Honorary Consul of Guatemala in Bangladesh, who with the aim of strengthening the presence of Guatemala in India contributed to the realization of such an important commemorative event.
